“I have looked into your eyes with my eyes. I have put my heart beside your heart.”

Have you ever looked into the eyes of a child? What do you see?

  1. I am sometimes frightened by the intensity in my 7 year old son's eyes. I don't give him enough credit. His wheels are always turning. He is always learning - taking in his world around him - trying to make sense of it all. Along with intensity, I see competitiveness. I am working with him on his lack of empathy. There are times where I want to be able to see empathy in those eyes. It's not there yet.

By the way, the powerteaching youtube was very cool!!!! This could really help our undergraduates here with classroom management.

  2. When I look into the eyes of my 10 year old daughter I see myself as I want to be-better, more compassionate, wiser, more patient. I wonder what she sees when she looks into mine. Does she see the whirlwind of thoughts, worries and ideas that fly around in my head all day or does she see something else?
